Macquarie Park is a Trust cemetery and is held 'in trust' on behalf of the people of New South Wales. It is not privately owned but managed by a Board of Trustee with a full management and customer services team. The cemetery and crematorium is on Crown Land and as such will always remain a cemetery and crematorium.

is an Australian public trust cemeterysituated on 64 hectares of Crown Land owned by the New South Wales Government, administered by the Department of Lands and managed by successive honorary Boards of Trustees as a not for profit community service in perpetuity since the first burial within the grounds in 1922. The original name was the Northern Suburbs General Cemetery. The name change came in 2004 with the introduction of the Chapels and Crematorium.

Since the first burial at Macquarie Park on the 20th April 1922, the Trust have kept detailed records of each individual that has been entrusted to and remains in its care.
