Cremains interment choices as individual as those you wish remembered
As cremation is established as Australia’s preferred alternative to traditional burial of a loved one's body, provisions for the interment of cremation ashes have increased to reflect the needs of the community. The interment option you choose to memorialise the memory of your loved one is a unique and special choice. Depending on whether the ashes are buried, interned in a wall, garden, or existing grave you have a wide variety to take full account of the many locations and the evolving preferences of a modern Australian society.
World Class Crematorium
Following Macquarie Park’s addition of a world class crematorium, an increasing proportion of the cemetery’s burials have been the interment of cremains (crematorium ashes). Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium now offers you an unparalleled choice of beautiful locations and modern interment options from stylish individual wall niches to imposing family estates, garden suites and a mausoleum.
Following each cremation, the ashes are placed in a temporary container prior to collection or interment. Memorial Urns are on display and available for purchase. You can then organise the interment service at your chosen burial site alternatively you may opt to take the ashes home, or to a location that holds particular significance to the deceased.

Rivergum Reserve (Photo above) Rivergum Reserve is the park’s quintessential Australian bushland setting for your loved one’s ashes. This new garden with its individual memorial positions has established a unique, natural and treasured location for Sydney families. Native birds and familiar Australia flora adorn this reserve with its winding paths and simple natural surroundings. This new garden is proving to be a treasured location for many families.
Garden of Peace  The Garden of Peace as it’s name implies is set in the most peaceful part of the park. It provides both garden and niche options in a more formal setting under spreading native trees. With views over the park, this tranquil area has Garden Estates in various configurations that take account of your budget and suit the anticipated needs of the family seeking a memorial for years to come.
Garden of Tranquillity Macquarie Park’s exquisitely crafted Garden of Tranquillity bestows a considerable choice of six strikingly different approaches to memorialising your loved ones ashes. Your options extend from individual wall niches on the elegant Book Memorial, the imposing central Gazebo Memorial or the majestic Granite Wall Vase.
The popular choice for couples wanting to rest together within the Garden of Tranquillity is the Sapphire Garden, where the dual memorial niches are skilfully designed to take advantage of the broad natural vistas across the surrounding parklands.

Olive Grove Located at the park’s northerly perimeter Olive Grove is a stunning garden setting within The Stations of the Cross reserved for the memorialisation of your loved one’s cremains (crematorium ashes). The Rose Garden
Long considered the most traditional resting place for ashes, the Rose Garden has been re- opened after extensive re-development and four (4) new varities of fragrance roses be planted that will bring new peace to this very popular ash location. New sites will be available for purchase.
There are also special sections within the Jewish and traditional Chinese monumental areas where provisions are made for those who have chosen cremation.
Mahogany Garden Reserve
An affordable option for families on a budget, Mahogany Garden reserve is nestled under shade trees and close to the North Ryde rail link, for those using public transport.
Blueberry Ash Gardens
Leading up to and enhancing the popular Rose Garden, Blueberry Ash garden will in time be protected by towering Blueberry Ash trees. It is within a close walk to the Administration Office and the Cafe/Florist.
Niche and garden memorial plaques
Selection of a memorial plaque can be simplified with the aid of a Family Consultant, they can show you design alternatives plus assist you with completing the relevant paperwork to organise inscriptions and the plaque’s design and manufacture.
War grave insignia
Should the deceased hold entitlements to a Returned Services or Australian military insignia on his or her memorial plaque you will be required to apply for permission to the Office of Australian War Graves, PO Box 21, Woden ACT 2606 Australia or telephone 02 6289 1111.

Urns and memorial accessories
Each individual’s ashes are carefully collected and placed in a temporary container following the cremation. Prior to the interment service, the cremains can be transferred to your choice of memorial urn. The burial service can then be scheduled at your chosen memorial site.

Within the administration building new family rooms, you are welcome to review the display of cast bronze memorial plaques, urns and memorial jewellery. Exporting Cremains(Ashes)
The cremains of non Australian residents and deceased citizens with strong ties to their country of birth can be repatriated when required. Documentary requirements for exportation of human ashes are a ‘Death certificate’ a ‘Cremation certificate’ and a document certifying that the container to be exported holds only the cremated remains of the deceased. Documentation is available from Macquarie Park crematorium’s administration, upon request. In addition, you will need to complete a customs declaration form identifying the contents of the container as ‘Human cremated remains’. To export ashes they must be placed in an appropriate sealed container and a customs declaration must be affixed to the package. The urn can be carried in hand luggage on an international flight, transported as air or sea freight or posted internationally via registered mail. You can not transport your loved one’s cremains via International couriers like TNT, FedEx or DHL.
