Going Green - A staff initiative.

MPCC have introduced their very first ever 'Green Team'. This team is leading the wider employee group with initiatives that focus on sustainable work practices.

Perhaps our greatest contribution so far has been the recyclying and reusing of our waste soil.

Another initiatives have included reduced electricity consumption, recyclying plastic planter pots and reduction of the amount of paper used in the office.

Gravesite visits and tributes

If for any reason you are unable to visit a loved one, a staff member will happily place flowers and photograph the chosen site for you. The image can be posted or e-mailed to you. We will even supply the vase, free, upon request

Publications that can help

To help explain your interment, crematorium or memorial options to a distant family or community member you are invited to take any of the illustrative brochures we publish on selected park facilities.

You are also welcome to a copy of ‘Around Our Grounds' a quarterly newsletter that will keep you up to date on what's happening at Macquarie Park.

Brochures and The Newsletter are available at reception in our administration office and from the special distribution boxes throughout our park.

Information Seminars

Macquarie Park conduct enlightening seminars entitled ‘Funerals Are for the Living’ held either in house or at your community’s venue of choice. These seminars answer your questions and address the classic concerns faced when organising a funeral. The laws and customs of NSW and the ways that funeral directors help is clearly and fully explained.

Community Education Program

Demystifying the funereal industry is an ongoing program that Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium considers one of its important community responsibilities. Informative presentations on planning a funeral, dealing with loss and the workings of the funeral industry are available to local schools, clubs, associations, aged care facilities etc.

Information Day Tours

Macquarie Park’s Historical Day Tour escorts you to the most interesting historic areas, to visit the graves of the parks most celebrated and notable cemetery residents. Subject to availability, a tour of the chapels and crematorium can also be included. A courtesy buggy is available for those with walking difficulties.

Historical Lantern Tours

The entertaining, fascinating and unusual Historical Night Tours are an extraordinary tongue in cheek way to bring to life the stories of the many notable and celebrated individuals buried within the Park’s extensive cemetery.

Historical Lantern Tours are usually scheduled once a month on a Friday evening, group size is limited so night tours are usually fully booked. To avoid disappointment call 02 9805 0499 or complete the on line enquiry to reserve your place.
