Situated within rolling natural parkland in Sydney’s leafy north west, Macquarie Park has been acknowledged across the diverse communities it serves as the cemetery and crematorium of choice for almost 90 years.

Macquarie Park is a Trust cemetery and is held 'in trust' on behalf of the people of New South Wales. It is not privately owned but managed by a Board of Trustee with a full management and sales team. The cemetery and crematorium is on crown land and as such will always remain a cemetery and crematorium.

Macquarie Park Trustees recognise that this most beautiful parkland memorial site is primarily a place for the living, a tranquil environment where current and future generations can share cherished memories, pay their respects and celebrate the lives and achievements of those who have gone before.

Macquarie Park Cemetery and Crematorium is an Australian public trust cemetery situated on 64 hectares of Crown Land owned by the New South Wales Government, administered by the Department of Lands and managed by successive honorary Boards of Trustees as a not for profit community service in perpetuity since the first burial within the grounds in 1922. The original name was the Northern Suburbs General Cemetery. The name change came in 2004 with the introduction of the Chapels and Crematorium.

Discover your family history

Since the first burial at Macquarie Park on the 20th April 1922, the Trust have kept detailed records of each individual that has been entrusted to and remains in its care.

The records can be searched on the genealogy search page to determine whether your relatives found their final resting place at Macquarie Park. Your search will provide their date of death and interment plus the service type and location details should you wish to visit their grave.
